Questions people ask
Straight answers about how this works, how fees are handled and where I go. If something isn't here, please ask.
Are you a care agency or a home care service?
No. I am one person, not an agency, and this is not domiciliary care or medical support. You see me every time, and I take on only one or two people at a time, which is what makes that possible.
Which areas do you cover?
I am based in Epsom and work across Surrey, South West London and the Home Counties. The full list of towns is on my areas page. If you are a little outside it, it is still worth a conversation.
What happens first?
An informal conversation by telephone or video call, at no charge. If it feels right, we meet — usually at home, or somewhere else comfortable. The steps are set out in full on my How I Help page.
How are fees handled?
Fees are agreed individually after the first meeting and set out in a written proposal. There is no charge for the initial conversation and no deposit for ongoing arrangements. Invoices are issued weekly or monthly and settled by bank transfer within seven days.
Is there a contract, and how often would you visit?
Support is provided under a written Client Agreement and Terms and Conditions, so everything is clear from the start. There is no set pattern. Some arrangements are a regular afternoon each week, others more or less often, and most change over time.
Who do you usually spend time with?
Adults who value their independence and want to keep living the life they enjoy. Many are navigating a change such as retirement, bereavement, a shift in health, a move, or simply spending more time alone. Others are active and independent and would like good company and a hand with everyday life.
I am looking for a companion for my mother or father. Can I arrange it?
Yes. Often, the first conversation is with a son or daughter who lives too far away to drop in as often as they would like. Nothing is arranged without the agreement of the person it is for, and where a family would like to be kept informed I do that with their knowledge and consent.
Do you provide personal care or medical help?
No. I do not provide personal care, nursing, medication support or any form of medical help. If that kind of help is needed, it comes from a care agency or a nurse, alongside my time rather than as part of it.
Still wondering about something?
There is no fee, no obligation and no pressure.
Just a conversation.
